Farm to “I Do”
There’s a certain feeling that you get when you spend the day at the farm. It’s a place of simplicity and beauty, open spaces and beautiful skies. Our recently renovated 1890’s barn can be the centerpiece or the backdrop for your wedding or event. The uniqueness of our space lends itself to one of a kind weddings that aren’t possible in traditional venues. The barn oozes rustic charm and the rolling South Dakota prairie that surrounds it is decorated with native flowers, organic vegetables, and a few friendly animals that are ready to celebrate with you.
If you are interested in having your wedding at the farm, here are a few things to consider:
Our rentals are for the weekend. We don’t want you to be rushed in getting ready for your day. You have the space from Friday morning through Sunday at 11am. We can also host your rehearsal dinner or cocktail hour the evening prior to your wedding.
Our barn is not climate controlled, so our season is short, late May through early October with a hot streak in July (warm weather discount for bookings in July!).
Our barn has three levels: The main entry that makes a great place for cocktails, the loft with walkout deck, and the lower level--a full stone basement that would make any saloon owner jealous. The loft of the barn holds 145 for a seated ceremony. The lower level holds 125 seated around banquet tables. We can host larger weddings (up to 250 people); this requires the outdoor spaces and tent rental.
Our outdoor space, the courtyard, lies just to the south of the barn. This is where the restrooms are which allows easy access to the bar in the lower level. This space also makes a great ceremony space for larger weddings and both the lower level and courtyard can be used for seated receptions. Tent rental is an option if the weather warrants.
While our setting looks traditional, it lends itself to a less formal, more festive atmosphere. You can use whatever caterer you would like. Food trucks are always a fun option! The farm offers a little something for everyone. Kids love to see and feed the animals. Your grandparents will love the nostalgia of the setting. You will enjoy the ease of holding your wedding here.
